1.Tell us about yourself, your family, your occupation, hobbies/interests.
​I am married with 10 children. I work for my uncle doing floor installations. I enjoy a bit of hunting and fishing in my free time.

2. When do you start CrossFitting? Why did you start? Why do you continue now?
I started CrossFit almost 2 years ago. Joe Kaiser convinced me to sign up, and Uncle Bob paid for my first year. Joe thought it would help with some of my injuries and so far, he is right. And I will have Uncle Bob know that his money wasn’t wasted because my work production has shot way up!

3. What do you enjoy most about CrossFit?
​ I enjoy seeing so many other lifters putting in serious effort and taking the advice of the coaches and other knowledgeable lifters.

4. What is your favorite movement or lift? What is your least favorite?
My favorite is toes to bar. I don’t really dislike any of it.

5. What are your current goals and how close are you to reaching them?
​ Pull ups did not use to be a challenge before injuries. It took 9 months of CrossFit to do a painless pull up.

6. What makes CrossFit different from other fitness programs that you might have tried in the past?
​ This is the first program I have experienced with a coaching staff. We have good dedicated coaches here.

7. What impact has CrossFit Benedictus had on your life, in and out of the gym?
​I definitely noticed a big increase in energy. And since I have a physically demanding job, I try to use the good form and technique that I have been taught.

8. Tell us about your nutrition and how it has changed, if any, since starting CrossFit?
​ For many years I have eaten very healthy, but for some reason, after joining CrossFit, I can’t stop thinking of ice cream. So, in that area I take the good coach’s advice “Listen to your body” most seriously!


9. If you could write a WOD for the classes to do, what would it look like?
​ 20 Double unders
10 Muscle ups
20 Double unders
20 Toes to bar
20 Double unders
30 Pull ups

10. What advice do you have for others about the importance of the dedication of taking care of yourself, of investing in yourself?
I don’t know anyone who has regrets for putting efforts into something good.

11. What advice would you give to someone new to CrossFit or who is thinking about giving it a try?
The better we can make ourselves with God’s help and the help of others, the more we are enabled in return to do more in the service of others for the honor and glory of God.
